Boyd County Public Library provides free test proctoring services.
Scheduling
Proctoring is available most hours the library is open.
It is highly recommended that prior arrangements for each proctoring session be made. Though “drop-in” test proctoring is possible, the library cannot guarantee staff will be available.
Taking the Exam
Paper exams
Most proctoring will take place in a quiet study room or meeting room without direct supervision. A private study room or meeting room can be reserved in advance.
Online exams
The library has desktop and laptop computers available for use by test takers. Again, the library does not provide direct supervision during the exam.
The Library is unable to proctor online exams that require the installation of special software or the modification of existing computer settings
Getting the Exam to the Library
Have the institution mail the exam to:
Public Services Manager

Or attach to email: publicserivces@thebookplace.org
Submitting Completed Exams
The library will gladly return completed tests via basic mail, fax, or scanning; however, the student is responsible for any special handling requirements.
Exam procedures
Library staff will read and comply with all instructions for administering the exam. The Library reserves the right to decline the service when the testing institution's requirements cannot be met.
The student is responsible for seeing that the Library receives the test and for checking that the test was received back. The Library does not keep copies of test materials.
Testing may be canceled or postponed if the testing materials are not received on time, require clarification, or otherwise exceed the library’s ability to comply with the testing institution’s requirements.
Students must arrive for testing on time, and bring their own supplies. Students must notify the Library if the scheduled appointment cannot be kept.
