After a 4 year hiatus, Richelle Mead is back and picking up where she left off in the Vampire Academy series. Bloodlines is written from Sydney’s perspective. Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, an ancient group sworn to protect humans from Vampires. Because of her “close” association with a dhamphir (a half-human/half-vampire) in the Vampire Academy books, Sydney’s place among the Alchemists is tenusous.

However, Jill Dragomir – the fifteen-year-old sister to the Moroi queen – has been attacked and needs protection. Sydney is asked to room with Jill at a prep-school in Palm Springs, California acting as her older sister.

The “easy” assignment turns out to be dangerous – to the point Sydney nearly dies.

Will she be able to protect Jill AND herself at the same time? The only way to find out is to pick up the book!

Bloodlines sequel, The Golden Lily, is due to release June 12, 2012.

he Student Research Center provides students in secondary education with the most appropriate research tools for easily obtaining the information that they seek from their EBSCO databases.

Through the Student Research Center, users can easily pre-determine which content sources (e.g., Magazines, Newspapers, Biographies, Country Reports, Film & Video) will be included with their search. They can also search their databases by topic heading, make use of an online dictionary and encyclopedia, explore the top searches of the day, and even limit their search according to appropriate Lexile reading levels.

Some databases may include Lexile reading levels in article citations. The Lexile level assigned to a result provides educators with an estimate of the reading difficulty of the result, and the approximate grade level reading ability required for comprehension. The grade level does not necessarily reflect a student’s actual grade.

They are also well received by strong and accomplished readers who are excited to follow along to the narration of their favorite books. Children, who are now growing up with e-mail, instant messaging, IPODs, and text messaging are early and willing adopters to this innovative online reading experience.
