Do you love horror stories? Then we have a great, new program for you.

“Last Writes” is The Library’s new book club for those who enjoy reading and talking about horror stories. It will meet on the third Friday of each month at the Kyova Branch, at 7 p.m. The first session is Sept. 21, when the group will discuss “Underneath” by Dan Dewitt.

This is also the first time BCPL will be offering a format choice to book club members — print or digital. The October selection is “The Found” by Genaro Zamora, and the November book is “Bleed” by Ed Kurtz.

Library Circulation Specialist Jan Ratliff will lead the discussion. For more information, call her at 606.329.0090.

BCPL offers five other monthly books clubs, and new members are always welcome at any of them:

  • Catlettsburg Book Club: 2nd Tuesday at 5 p.m.
  • Kreative Kritics: 3rd Tuesday, 6 p.m., Kyova Branch
  • Novel-Tea: last Monday, 1 pm, Main Branch
  • Main Book Club: last Tuesday, 6 p.m.
  • Let’s Get Graphic!: last Thursday, 6 p.m., Main

There is also a Short & Sweet program at the Kyova Branch on the 2nd Thursday at 6 p.m. Participants discuss 2-3 short stories and enjoy a sweet snack. Copies of the stories can be picked up at the Kyova Branch.
