 Rocket Languages allows users to visually learn a foreign language.  With 11 languages to chose from (including American Sign Language) Rocket Languages allows our users to download video tutorials they may keep – permanently.

Simply create your account and you can learn:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • French
  • German
  • Hindi
  • Ingeles (English for Spanish speakers)
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese
  • Sign Language (ASL)
  • Spanish
  • ロケット英語 (English for Japanese speakers)
Each language includes interactive audio lessons, Language & Culture lessons, and more (writing, games, etc).
You will need to register using your Boyd County Library Card and a valid e-mail address.

  1. Hey, I have to say I liked what I saw on Rocket Languages! 🙂

    After looking into Chinese, Hindi and Sign Language it seems consistent in what’s offered for each language. [The “Survival Kit” offered in Chinese seems to be the same as a lesson in Hindi that’s called “Survival Phrases.” So there might be a little searching for the “same thing” from language to language but it’s there.]

    It’s easy to see your progress with pie charts as well as a “proficiency” rating! The inclusion of certificates seems useful for resume varification!
