Whatever your goal, Learning Express Library’s resources will help you succeed. Each of the Learning Centers offers the practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life.

Learning Express Library’s resources are organized by topic into different Learning Centers, so whatever your reason for visiting Learning Express Library, everything you need can be found in one place. For example, if you are preparing for the GED, the GED Learning Center has practice tests, essays, and tutorial lessons to help you do your best.

Looking to land a job? You’ll find an entire Learning Center dedicated to helping you get the one that’s right for you.

Learning Express Library contains practice test tutorials, basic skills courses, and computer software tutorials. Improve your reading, writing , business or math skills. It allows you to answer, save, return to and score questions on practice versions of such standard tests as FCAT, SAT, ACT, GED, ASVAB, U.S. Citizenship and a range of academic and career tests. Start Learning Express Library

Computer Skills

The Learning Express Library Computer Skills Module features multimedia tutorials in Microsoft Office and Windows, including Office 2007 and Windows Vista. Courses are available for both Windows and Mac computers. Master computer applications most commonly used in schools, the workplace and at home. The New & Improved Computer Skills tutorials do not require installation of any software or plug-ins, are easier to use with increased functionality and include discussions, demos, quizzes and assessments to track and monitor progress. In addition, interactive practice labs allow users to apply what they have learned. Most courses contain a Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level 2008 versions are for Microsoft Office Macintosh.

All you need is 5 minutes a day and an email address to join one of our FREE online book clubs!

Are you looking for great new authors? Looking for a great book? Would you like to sample a book before you commit to checking it out? Do you like Chocolate Chip cookies? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions then you need to join one of online book clubs. How does it work? Every week we sample a new book. Monday through Friday, a quick 5 minute read is delivered to your email box and waiting for you to peruse with your morning cup of coffee. At the end of Friday’s read the ending page number is given so when you pick up the book from the library you know where you left off. (There is also a link on the emails to quickly and easily reserve the book from the library.)

There’s a book club for just about everyone, including: fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, science fiction, audio, business, pre-publication (be the first to see these soon-to-be-released books), teen, good news, and horror. On Mondays and Thursdays, Suzanne, your book club editor, offers a link to AuthorBuzz, where she introduces you to 3 or 4 authors and their books. Suzanne also holds giveaways where you can win funny or cool prizes–and once a month, Suzanne bakes homemade chocolate chip cookies for the winners of her monthly Chocolate Chip Cookie giveaway.

The online book clubs are a fun and stress free way to read. And, as Suzanne always ends her columns, “It’s so good to read with friends.”

Nationwide Assistance is available – call 211 from any telephone or visit 211.org to find tax help in your area.  This service is sponsored by the United Way.  AARP also provides tax assistance through their service Tax-Aide, please visit their website to find local volunteers.
Do you need help with Federal Tax Questions? Visit the local IRS Office in Huntington (open 8 AM – 3:30 PM M-F):

The Huntington Tax office is also where you will be able to request 1099 forms.

At the end of the lending period, digital checkouts are automatically returned to the library’s catalog, so there are never any late fees. A hold can be placed on the item, and when it becomes available, an email is automatically sent to the person requesting the title.
