Boyd County Public Library has some great resources for anyone currently in the market for a new job.

The Job & Career Accelerator component of Learning Express Library, one of our many online databases, can help job seekers in lots of ways.

First, you can use it to determine which types of jobs are best suited to your individual skills, and see what types of training, continuing education and exams might be required for that new career path. Job & Career Accelerator has training courses for several computer software programs like Windows 7, Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and many more.

Need a new or updated resume? You can create one directly in Job & Career Accelerator and then export it to job-seeking sites like Indeed.com.

Computer Skills

The Learning Express Library Computer Skills Module features multimedia tutorials in Microsoft Office and Windows, including Office 2007 and Windows Vista. Courses are available for both Windows and Mac computers. Master computer applications most commonly used in schools, the workplace and at home. The New & Improved Computer Skills tutorials do not require installation of any software or plug-ins, are easier to use with increased functionality and include discussions, demos, quizzes and assessments to track and monitor progress. In addition, interactive practice labs allow users to apply what they have learned. Most courses contain a Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level 2008 versions are for Microsoft Office Macintosh.
