Doggone programs

Butterflies are free to fly

If all goes as planned, Boyd County Public Library will soon be a regular pit stop on the route of the majestic Monarch butterflies as they travel from Canada to Mexico, and back. Work began in August on a Monarch Waystation, just outside the Main Branch in Ashland, and adjacent to Central Park and Crabbe Elementary. BCPL board lowers tax rate

The Boyd County Public Library Board of Trustees has set a budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year that once again reduces both the real property and personal property tax rates for county residents. The board voted unanimously in favor of the tax rate reduction at its meeting this week. The decision comes on the heels of BCPL’s record-breaking year in terms of items checked out.
