Story times in 2013

Patrons spoke, and the library listened. Last fall’s move to uniform story hours for toddlers and preschoolers was not well-received by parents and caregivers, so Boyd County Public Library is switching back to its previous times. The 2013 story time programs include Toddler Time at the Catlettsburg, Main and Kyova branches; and Preschool Story Time at Main and Kyova. Happy 50th Berenstain Bears!

Two of the most famous kids in children’s literature will be visiting their friends in Ashland and Boyd County later this month. Young people love libraries

In the library world, there was some uplifting news last week – a national study that shows how books, libraries and technology play a prominent role in the lives of young people in this country. The Board of Trustees of Boyd County Public Library is seeking applications for a new member. The application deadline is Nov. 15, with the hope of interviewing candidates at the Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 19.
