We just passed the halfway mark of “Groundbreaking Reads,” the adult summer reading program here at Boyd County Public Library, and we’re thrilled with the number of participants – and all the books being read. Since Memorial Day, 143 adults have registered for the program, and together they have written 633 book reviews. Reviews don’t need to be lengthy – 25 words is the minimum. What started as an idea to let library patrons checkout passes to the local museum has grown into an innovative new program designed to let the community discover … well, the community. Just in time for summertime car trips – new Playaway Views for kids are available for checkout at Boyd County Public Library.  Playaway Views are self-contained, durable video players for kids. They come preloaded with content and are easy for kids to operate.
