Boyd County Public Library District is a tax supported institution. Boyd County residents pay no additional fees for obtaining a borrower’s card.
The Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with most eastern Kentucky county libraries from Rowan County to Pike County, including Carter County, Greenup County, and Lawrence County; along with Cabell County, WV, Wayne County, WV, and Lawrence County, OH. There is no additional charge to residents of these counties.
These reciprocal agreements allow Boyd County residents to obtain cards in these counties as well.
All others pay a non-resident fee.
