Calling all photographers!
Boyd County Public Library is sponsoring its third annual photo exhibit in August, in conjunction with the adult summer reading program, “Literary Elements.”
“Literary Images” is the theme of the exhibit, which opens Friday, August 1.
The display will be at the Pendleton Art Center, located at 1537 Winchester Ave. The opening reception, which coincides with the downtown First Friday event, is on Friday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Photographers may interpret the theme in any way they choose. Entries need to be original work. Submitted photos must be framed, ready to hang, and dropped off with an entry form at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave., Ashland, by 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31.
A People’s Choice Award (and a $50 prize) will be awarded to the photographer whose work receives the most public votes. All exhibitors and the public are invited to attend the reception and vote for their favorite photograph. The winner will be announced at that evening’s reception at 8 p.m.
“Literary Elements,” the adult summer reading program at BCPL, runs through Labor Day. Adults earn rewards based on the number of books they read this summer.
