Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia

ghosts of georgia

This video is scary from begining to end.  When the ghosts show up in the daytime, no place is safe.  Unlike a lot of horror films, this one makes sense all the way through and ends logically.  It’s based on a true story so that makes it even better, or worse depending on your point of view.  I would recommend watching it and I will probably watch it again.

Elsewhere

This film stars Anna Kendrick (Twilight Saga) as Sarah and Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries) as Billy.  Young girls are missing in a small town.  When Sarah’s friend, Jillian turns up missing Sarah is the only one searching for her.  Her mother is a loser who doesn’t seem the least bit concerned about her daughter. The local cop was following Jillian on her dating website and she threatened him so he isn’t helping in the search either.  I enjoy films that keep … Continue reading

Red Lights

Red Lights stars Cillian Murphy and Sigourney Weaver as investigators of paranormal activity.  Robert DeNiro stars as Silver, a man who has become rich and famous because of his so called “paranormal” abilities.  DeNiro is always great and he’s why I watched this movie to begin with.  There is a great twist at the end that I saw coming but not until about halfway through.  I would definitely recommend it.

The Raven

John Cusack is one of my favorite actors.  He is wonderful in this film.  He plays  with very subtle nods to Poe’s intelligence and odd demeanor.  The story tells of how Poe is contacted by the police to help them solve the case of a serial killer who is klling women based on Poe’s stories.  The film attempts to explain the reason why Poe was found sitting on a park bench in someone else’s clothes.  There are also stories that … Continue reading

The Cabin in the Woods

September 25, 2012 by

This is a Joss Whedon film.  Five friends go out to the cabin in the woods and bad things begin to happen. Of course they do.  I don’t watch the films where people go to a cabin in the woods and live happily ever after.  Too boring.  This movie is worth the time to watch it.  One of the bonuses is Sigourney Weaver has a part near the end.  She’s great.  If you like scary movies with a twist, you’ll … Continue reading

Margin Call

August 2, 2012 by

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in years.  Kevin Spacey and Jeremy Irons are two of my all-time favorite actors.  They are both exceptionally amazing in this film along with a dynamic cast of supporting actors.  The film centers on a Wall Street firm’s buying and selling of stocks.  This is a subject completely foreign to me but I was able to keep up because near the beginning of the film, Jeremy Iron’s asks the man to explain … Continue reading
