Letters to Santa

Throughout the month of November, children can write and drop off their letters to Santa at any of our three branches. In December, one letter will be selected each day through December 20  and posted on our Facebook page.

Haunt the Library

Boyd County Public Library will host its annual Haunt the Library youth event on Friday, October 28 The program starts at 11 a.m. at the Main and Kyova branches. Caregivers are invited to bring children under 12 that are dressed in costume to parade through the Library. Just in time for summertime car trips – new Playaway Views for kids are available for checkout at Boyd County Public Library.  Playaway Views are self-contained, durable video players for kids. They come preloaded with content and are easy for kids to operate. Story times in 2013

Patrons spoke, and the library listened. Last fall’s move to uniform story hours for toddlers and preschoolers was not well-received by parents and caregivers, so Boyd County Public Library is switching back to its previous times. The 2013 story time programs include Toddler Time at the Catlettsburg, Main and Kyova branches; and Preschool Story Time at Main and Kyova. Here at BCPL, we just keep adding and adding to our collection of fun and educational electronic resources for kids. Everything on here is free. All you need is a library card (which is also free!). One of our newest, and coolest electronic additions is TumbleBookCloud. We have versions for elementary through high school readers.
