As a librarian I try to read the “popular” books so I will know what everyone is talking about. That’s why I started reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I read the second one because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened to Ana Steele and Christian Grey. There are a series of three books about these characters. It is set mostly in Seattle, WA. Ana meets “Fifty” when she falls through his office door. She’s only there because she’s helping a sick friend. Christian introduces Ana to a lifestyle most people don’t talk about around the water cooler, but they do now. E. L. James, who said in a recent television interview that she wrote this story because she was going through a mid-life crisis, has brought to life the world of BDSM. (You can Google that.) I will never order vanilla ice cream without a smile on my face.











Nice summary, I have had my doubts about whether to pick it up or not. People say it’s bad literature masked with adult themes, but despite that I’m still curious to give it a read. See if you agree with these articles about the books:
