Boyd County Public Library will host a Barktober event on Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held in conjunction with the grand opening of Central Bark, the new dog park located in Ashland’s Central Park. The event is open to the public and four-legged friends.

“I’m excited about Central Bark, especially since we see all types of four-legged animals and their humans walking past the library on their lap around the park,” said Debbie Cosper, Director of Boyd County Public Library. “It will be nice to see a place for dogs to play. Plus, as a dog lover myself, I’m delighted to bring Barktober back. My favorite part is seeing all the dogs have fun… and giving out the Director’s Award for my favorite entry.”

The Barktober event will kick-off at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony. A costume contest, with prizes for look-alike, ugliest, prettiest, best costume and Director’s choice, will follow at 10:30 a.m. Peanut the Clown will also be in attendance.
